Comprises copies of two letters dated 1872 from Joseph Lea to Nathan Hilles, Esq., president of the Philadelphia Gas Works, these copies were sent to Henry C. Lea in 1874. Also includes letters to Lea concerning Joseph Lea's business enterprises: Treasurer of the Cannelton Coal Company of West Virginia; principal in the firm of Lea, McCarter & Cresson of Philadelphia which was dissolved 30 December 1882 to become the partnership of Lea & Cresson conducting business at the Albion Print Works, Philadelphia.
